Kellie Don (Demas) Delancey obit photoKellie Don (Demas) Delancey, known for her selflessness and love, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family. She was born on November 10, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Don and Betty (King) Demas.

Kellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, whose heart was expansive, and her spirit generous.

She graduated from Cameron High School in 1977 and attended beautician school, where she earned a degree in cosmetology. Kellie married Allen Delancey on April 3, 2004, in Cameron, Missouri. Allen often said he “won the lottery” the day he met her, calling it the best day of his life. The couple could often be found at garage sales, filling their truck with treasures.

Kellie’s life was a testament to the art of giving. She loved working as a hairstylist because of the joy it brought her clients with a new cut, color, or style. She spent years working in various nursing homes, where she greatly enjoyed her time. When you sat in her chair, you felt as though you were family.

Above all, Kellie cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She delighted in the company of her children and grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and learning. Her selflessness and dedication to her family were evident in everything she did, from baking to giving pedicures to her granddaughters and enjoying sports with her grandsons.

Kellie had a unique ability to make everyone she met feel special. She ensured that anyone she cared about felt loved and taken care of. Even in her final days, she was more concerned about others than herself.

Kellie was preceded in death by her father, Don Demas, and the father of her children, Larry Limb.

She is survived by her husband, Allen, of the home; two children, Phillip (Felicia) Limb of Maysville, Missouri, and Holly Limb of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Maclin and Liberty Limb, Jaylen Whitby, and Alivia Grigsby; two sisters, Kristie (Ronnie) Calhoon and Robin (Denny) Murphy; her mother, Betty Demas; and nieces and nephews, including Allison, Adam, and Morgan Murphy, Jennifer Erickson, and Dakota (Sable) Calhoon.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Poland-Thompson Chapel, with visitation two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Burial will take place at Cameron Memory Gardens.

Memorials in memory of Kellie may be given to the Kellie Delancey Memorial Fund.
