Judge Hudson hands down prison sentences in Grundy County Circuit Court

Prison sentences were handed down by Judge Steve Hudson on Thursday after the defendants pleaded guilty in Division One of Grundy County Circuit Court. 

Stacy Craig of Trenton pleaded guilty to three felony counts and received three prison sentences: six years for possession of a controlled substance, four years for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and four years for abandonment of a corpse. The terms are to run concurrently.

Purdin resident Denis Logan Linard pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving while intoxicated – aggravated offender. Linard was sentenced to seven years with the Department of Corrections. He was ordered to pay $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund. The court ordered that Linard be placed in institutional treatment.

Tara Leanne Weimer of Trenton pleaded guilty to third-degree assault. She was sentenced to four years with the Department of Corrections. Execution of the sentence was suspended, and Weimer was placed on five years of supervised probation. Conditions include the completion of the Compass Health Network Program.

Kirksville resident Polis Yege pleaded guilty to an amended count of driving while intoxicated – aggravated, as well as driving while revoked or suspended. Yege was sentenced to seven years with the Department of Corrections for the DWI and four years for driving while revoked or suspended. The terms are to be served concurrently. The court requested he be placed in institutional treatment.

Anthony Alexander, a resident of Indianola, Iowa, pleaded guilty to two felonies and two misdemeanors. He was sentenced to a seven-year term for possession of a controlled substance and four years for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The terms would run concurrently. Execution of the prison time was suspended, and Alexander was placed on five years of supervised probation. He is to donate $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund, receive medical and substance abuse treatment through the Veterans Administration, and undergo monthly urine analysis. Fines totaling $251 were assessed for driving while revoked or suspended and speeding.

Stephen Walker of Trenton pleaded guilty to an amended count of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault. Imposition of the sentence was suspended, and Walker was placed on two years of probation. Conditions include participation in anger management and marriage counseling, maintaining employment for 30 hours a week, and providing a safe home environment for his children.

At a hearing, Melissa Brill of Galt admitted to a probation violation. The probation was revoked, and Brill was sentenced to seven years in prison on each of two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance. The terms run concurrently.

Trenton resident Kathy Jo Campbell surrendered her probation. The court sentenced Campbell to four years with the Department of Corrections on a felony charge for possession of a controlled substance.

Samantha Ratkovich of Trenton had her probation revoked after admitting to a violation. She was sentenced to five years with the Department of Corrections. The court requested Ratkovich be placed in institutional treatment. Her original charge involved felony stealing of a vehicle.

Kansas City resident David Ray Gamble admitted to a probation violation. The probation was revoked, and Gamble was sentenced to seven years with the Department of Corrections for felony drug possession. The court requested Gamble be placed in institutional treatment.

Among other cases, Jessica Joy Weeks of Trenton pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Sentencing was deferred until September 12th. The court noted she is to be released from jail on special bond conditions, including supervision by North Missouri Court Services. Weeks is also to be screened for the Third Circuit Treatment Court.

Jeffrey Chad Corbin of Trenton pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance. He is to be screened for the Third Circuit Treatment Court. Sentencing is to be announced on September 12th.

Mathew David Lee of Trenton is to have a jury trial on April 2nd for a non-support charge. Tamashya Latrece Foster of Fulton is scheduled for a jury trial beginning April 10th. She is charged with two counts of alleged first-degree drug trafficking or attempt, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
