John Brian Peterie obit photoJohnny B. Peterie, 62, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, died Friday, August 16, 2024, in Trenton, Missouri.

Mr. Peterie was born on February 15, 1962, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Allen A. and Joan McDonald Peterie.

Johnny spent most of his childhood growing up in Laredo and Chula, Missouri, before moving to Leisure Lake in Trenton, Missouri. He worked for the railroad and as a mechanic for various companies throughout the years. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything put in front of him. He was also an amazing woodworker and builder. He spent most of his time in his shop tinkering, woodworking, and enjoying the outdoors. He was a simple man of few words with great knowledge of the world. He was an old soul and will be missed greatly by his family.

He is survived by two daughters: Johnna Tuttle and her husband Mike of Chillicothe, Missouri; Kaylea Goodman and her wife Hayley of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; two sons: Jonathan Peterie of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Travis Peterie and his wife Jessica of Chillicothe, Missouri; three sisters: Debbie Sanning of Jamesport, Missouri, Connie Harvey of Chula, Missouri, and Mary Ellen Karnes and her husband Kris of Lathrop, Missouri; two brothers: Richard Peterie and his wife Dionis, and Alvin Peterie, both of Trenton, Missouri; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gary Peterie, and his significant other, Marilyn Betz.

A memorial will be held at noon on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Chula Community Center in Chula, Missouri. A private family burial of cremains will be in Laredo, Missouri, at a later time.
