Janet Lou (Walsh) Elder obit photoJanet Elder, an 80-year-old long-time Trenton resident, passed away at 7:19 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at her son’s residence in Marshfield, Missouri, where she was under hospice care.

All friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. A graveside service will follow in Coon Creek Cemetery.

Janet Lou Elder was born on August 20, 1944, in Chicago, Indiana, to John and Blanche (Whorton) Walsh. She graduated from Trenton High School and was married to Fred Elder at Coon Creek Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2003. Janet worked as a waitress around Trenton for most of her life. She had a passion for country music and dancing. She was a member of the Coon Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving relatives include her son, Gary Lawrence, and his wife, Lana, of Marshfield, Missouri; daughters Lori Lawrence Traylor of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and Rhonda Driscoll Gray of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brandon and his wife Chelsie, Kyle Lawrence, Bradley and Nicholas Traylor, and Matt and Kristen Driscoll; and six great-grandchildren, Teagan, Mason, and Blake Lawrence, Logan Ray, Titus, and Liam Driscoll.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles and Jack Walsh, and a long-time partner, Jerry Stotts.
