The Livingston County Sheriff’s department earlier this year discovered that a man living in the county actually had an out of state sex offense conviction.

The investigation led to the arrest of Thomas Leon Midgyette, 57 of Chillicothe who was convicted Tuesday, June 14th on a felony charge of failing to register as a sex offender.

Midgyette was sentenced to the maximum of 4-years in Livingston County circuit court, with the sentence suspended. He was then placed on probation for 5-years.

He was released from the Daviess-Dekalb regional jail, and according to Sheriff Cox, is now in compliance with registration requirements under Missouri Law.

He is described as a black male, with black and gray hair, six feet, one inch in height, weighing 212 pounds, with a birth date of February 24, 1959.

He is purported to own a 1995 Chevrolet, Silverado pickup with no license information at the time of registration.

His current residence at the time of registration (June 15, 2016) with the Livingston County Sheriff’s department is listed as 209 East Heriman Street, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.

Midgyette was convicted in 1992 in the state of New Mexico for a sex offense with a child under the age of 13-years of age.
