Intersection collision north of Hamilton leaves one injured

A collision at the intersection of Route CC and Route D, five miles north of Hamilton, Missouri, resulted in minor injuries on August 16, 2024. The accident occurred at approximately noon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2009 Ford Explorer, driven by 61-year-old Gina R. Saunders of Hamilton, Missouri, was traveling southbound on Route CC when it was struck by a 2016 Ram 1500. The Ram, driven by 29-year-old Abigail A. Caselman of Cameron, Missouri, was stopped at the intersection and failed to yield to the oncoming Ford Explorer.

The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. The Ford Explorer was totaled and came to rest in the northbound lane of Route CC, facing south. The Ram 1500 sustained moderate damage and came to rest off the north side of Waltz Avenue, facing southwest.

Gina R. Saunders sustained minor injuries and was transported by Daviess County EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment. Abigail A. Caselman was uninjured.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Kaw Fire Department assisted.
