At 4:45 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, Connie Sanders-Ford, a resident at Chillicothe Correctional Center in Chillicothe, Missouri, was pronounced dead. Sanders-Ford, 74, was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder and armed criminal action originating from McDonald County.
Sanders-Ford had been in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections since July 6, 2016. According to a statement from the correctional facility, her death was due to apparent natural causes.
The Missouri Department of Corrections has not released additional details regarding the circumstances of her death. An investigation may be conducted to ensure all protocols were followed, as is standard procedure in cases involving the death of an incarcerated individual.
