Don Boswell, host of Encounter the Gospel on KTTN Radio, made a special trip to Silver Dollar City, where he is attending the Southern Gospel Picnic. On day one of his visit, his experience included two shows with Jeff & Sheri Easter, a performance by The Simmons Family, and an evening concert by Greater Vision. The Southern Gospel Picnic is an annual event that takes place at Silver Dollar City from August 22 to September 2, 2024. For 11 days, guests are treated to live gospel music across multiple stages throughout the park. Each evening, the Southern Gospel Nights concert series will be held at the Echo Hollow Amphitheatre, offering performances by top gospel artists.
Notable performers include Greater Vision, The Hoppers, and The Isaacs. The event also features daily performances by Silver Dollar City’s own Spoken 4 Quartet at the Riverfront Playhouse. In addition to the musical offerings, attendees can indulge in an all-you-care-to-eat feast at The House of Chicken & Fixin’s, featuring Southern-style fried chicken and classic comfort foods.
