A crash occurred on Highway 11, five miles west of Troy Mills, at approximately 8:19 a.m. on July 18, 2024, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Charles E. Lacost, 85, of Kirksville, Missouri, was traveling eastbound when it was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling westbound. The unknown vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with the Silverado before fleeing the scene.
Lacost, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries. He was able to drive his vehicle from the scene and is expected to seek treatment.
The incident remains under investigation, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol urges anyone with information about the unknown vehicle or its driver to come forward.
