Highway 36 crash near New Cambria injures driver from Branson

An accident occurred on Highway 36, two miles west of New Cambria, Missouri, on July 17, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the collision involved a 2024 Peterbilt and a 2023 Nissan Rogue, both traveling westbound.

According to the report, Christopher A. Golian, 24, of Centralia, Missouri, was driving the Peterbilt, which sustained moderate damage and was towed by Still Towing. Derek B. Jones, 38, of Branson, Missouri, was driving the Nissan Rogue, which was totaled and also towed by Still Towing. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The incident occurred when the Peterbilt attempted to pass the Nissan Rogue, resulting in the Rogue striking the Peterbilt in the left lane. Derek B. Jones suffered minor injuries and was transported by Macon County Ambulance to Samaritan Hospital.

Assistance at the scene was provided by Corporal Skaggs, Trooper Hinshaw, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Macon County Rescue, New Cambria Rural Fire Department, and the Callao Rural Fire Department.
