Higbee woman airlifted to hospital after crashing on Highway B

A crash occurred on Highway B, five miles west of Clark, Missouri, at approximately 12:35 p.m. on August 10, 2024. The accident involved a 2009 Mercury Milan driven by Mary E. Holzbaur, a 62-year-old woman from Higbee, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling westbound when it veered off the right side of the roadway. The driver attempted to regain control, causing the vehicle to cross over the left side of the road before striking an embankment. The car ultimately came to rest in a creek.

Holzbaur, who was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained serious injuries. She was transported by MU Health Flight to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, for treatment.

The Mercury Milan was totaled and was towed from the scene by Prathers Towing from Cairo.

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Southeast Randolph County Fire Department, and Randolph County Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
