The Grundy County Commission has approved the county property tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year. The rate was set at 19.28 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, a decrease of 1.12 cents from the proposed amount and the previous year’s rate. The decision was made during a meeting on August 27th.
In other business, the commission submitted paperwork for reimbursement related to a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster declaration. The declaration involves damages from 2023, primarily affecting the northeast part of Grundy County. The county has completed the necessary work to address these damages.
Additionally, the commission was informed that the Emergency Management Performance Grant amount was reduced from $1,260 to $945. The funds were de-obligated and not spent, and the money will be allocated for the next round of grants.
