The Grundy County Republican Central Committee convened on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Grundy County Courthouse to elect officers and address other matters. The committee elected Ben Thomas as Chairman, Marcy Meservey as Vice-Chairman, Mary Axtell as Secretary, and J.A. Keuhn as Treasurer.
In addition to the officer elections, three individuals were appointed to fill vacancies on the County Committee. Betty Lee will represent Franklin Township, Derek Rorebeck will serve Lincoln Township, and Kristi Weldon will represent Trenton First Ward.
The committee also formed a four-member team consisting of Becky McDonald, Jeff Smith, Becky Meek, and Brandon Harvey. This group is tasked with gathering materials and engaging interested parties in opposition to the Missouri Abortion Rights Initiative Petition, Amendment 3.
Looking ahead, the Republican Central Committee plans to participate in the Missouri Days Parade and host a booth at the Missouri Days Festival. A planning meeting is scheduled for September 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grundy County Republican Headquarters. The meeting will focus on the potential organization of an event before the November General Election.
