Greencastle’s Community Labor Day Celebration will be held at Greencastle Park from August 30 through September 2.
Activities will start on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the announcement of Labor Day royalty. A Labor Day Kickoff Party will begin at 8:00 p.m. with Riker featuring Ron Stone.
Saturday’s events will include the Walk the Castle 3K Walk at 8:30 a.m., a scavenger hunt, a car show at noon, a children’s craft corner, and a rodeo at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday’s activities will feature a community church service at 10:00 a.m., a cornhole tournament at noon, a baby show at 1:00 p.m., children’s games, a pedal pull at 1:30 p.m., a pie auction at 2:00 p.m., and another rodeo performance at 7:30 p.m.
Mutton busting on August 31 and September 1 will cost $10 to enter. Rodeo admission will be $12 at the gate. Children five and younger will be admitted for free to the rodeo.
A mechanical bull will be available on the nights of August 31 and September 1.
The schedule for September 2 includes a parade at 11:30 a.m. Donna Snyder will be the grand marshal, and awards will be given. Lunch will follow the parade and will include a $10 steak sandwich meal.
A beer tent and food stand will be available during the Greencastle Community Labor Day Celebration from August 30 through September 2. No carry-in alcohol or coolers will be allowed.
