The bridge over the Grand River on Livingston County U.S. Route 65, just south of Chillicothe, is now open to two-way traffic.

The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Radmacher Brothers Excavating Co. to rehabilitate the bridge’s deck or driving surface. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. Crews began work in March to relocate an access road, then closed one lane of the bridge in April to begin replacing the bridge deck under staged construction. For most of the project, traffic was still able to cross the bridge with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone.

On Wednesday, December. 9, 2020, the contractor and MoDOT were able to restore two-way traffic over the bridge. Some off-road work may still occur, and motorists should continue to use caution as workers may be close to the roadway.
