Gallatin Chautauqua returns with activities from Sept. 20 to 22

The 38th Annual Gallatin Chautauqua is set to take place from September 20 through September 22, offering a variety of activities for the community. The event will span three days, with activities ranging from contests and performances to historical reenactments.

Friday’s Schedule
The Chautauqua will kick off on Friday with a barbecue contest check-in from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy a wine stroll and a performance by the Daisy Cull Band from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A beer garden will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight, providing an additional attraction for evening visitors.

Saturday’s Lineup
Saturday’s events will start early with the Access II 5K race at 7 a.m., followed by a car show at 9 a.m. Several activities will commence at 9:30 a.m., including tours of the squirrel cage jail, a historical society scavenger hunt, the Little Mister and Miss Chautauqua contest, and a baby show. The theater league play, “Back in Time II,” will have three showings at 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m.

At 11 a.m., participants can compete in a cookie stacking contest. Toby Kidd, a professional goofball, will entertain audiences at 11:30 a.m. The afternoon will feature a cornhole tournament and inflatable games starting at 1 p.m., and a Jesse James reenactment by the McBee Family at 4 p.m. A parade will take place at 5 p.m., and a chuck wagon dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Vendors will be available throughout the day, providing a variety of goods and refreshments. The beer garden will remain open all day on Saturday.

Sunday’s Events
Sunday will begin with the Main Street Pancake Breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by a community-wide worship service on the lawn at 11 a.m., providing a serene conclusion to the weekend’s festivities.
