The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office has announced 62-year-old James “Jake” Leon Baker as April 5th’s Friday Fugitive.
The office reports that Baker is wanted on an active Grundy County probation violation arrest warrant for an original offense of failure to register as a sex offender. Baker is reportedly a non-compliant sex offender who is not registering and is known to be argumentative.
The sheriff’s office notes that he has been living outside the area for some time but occasionally returns to Grundy County.
Baker is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing 190 pounds. He has blue eyes, short gray, curly hair, and has been seen with a full beard, mustache, and long sideburns. He wears glasses and has tattoos including the names Jake and Cody James, a cross, a girl, and wings. Pictures of Baker can be found on the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office’s app.
Anyone with information on Baker’s whereabouts is advised not to attempt to apprehend him but to call the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office at 660-359-2828.
