The Sullivan County Emergency Management Agency, in collaboration with the National Weather Service, is set to offer a free storm spotter training session. Aimed at enhancing community preparedness and response during severe weather events, this session is scheduled for March 26th at 7:00 pm. It will take place at the Milan Community Center, welcoming participants interested in learning about storm spotting and weather safety.

An expert meteorologist from the National Weather Service will lead the class, sharing insights into severe weather patterns, storm-spotting techniques, and essential safety measures. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on identifying and reporting severe weather conditions, contributing to the safety and well-being of their communities.

The training is open to the public and encourages participation from all who are interested in weather phenomena and community safety. This initiative is part of a broader effort to educate the public on weather-related hazards and to bolster the network of trained storm spotters across the region.
