Cultural Corner Art Guild and Gallery, located at 424 Locust Street in Chillicothe, Missouri, will extend its hours on the last Thursday of the month, July 25, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., offering free admission to the public. This event provides an opportunity for those with conflicting schedules to visit the gallery’s current exhibition.

The current exhibition features the works of Nora Othic, a prolific artist known for her paintings of farm animals, landscapes, and rural life. Othic, who primarily works in oils, pastels, and watercolors, is regarded as one of the leading regionalist painters in the Midwest.

In addition to the exhibition, Cultural Corner invites local acoustic musicians, storytellers, comedians, and poets to participate in an open mic session during the After-Hours event. Attendees can enjoy performances from local artists and take part in a $5.00 instructor-guided graphite drawing class, with materials provided by the gallery. A creative art therapy abstract painting activity will also be available for $5.00 per canvas. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, with complimentary water and snacks provided.

Samantha Halter, Director of the art gallery, states, “If it is hard to get to Cultural Corner during our regular business hours, then this is the moment for you. If you are just looking for something different and fun to do for an evening, this is the activity for you. We invite you to come and enjoy an evening out at After-Hours at the gallery.”

Cultural Corner Art Guild & Gallery is open to the public and free of admission Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about exhibits, classes, painting parties, events, or renting the space for private events, visit Cultural Corner’s Facebook page or Cultural Corner website, email director@culturalcornerartguild.org, or call 660-240-5022.
