Frederick Andrew Young, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his residence.
Fred was born the son of Forrest Andrew and Marjorie Lena (Jones) Young on May 8, 1944, in Douglas, Arizona. He attended Trenton Junior College in Trenton, Missouri. On June 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Janice at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Fred was a self-employed farmer. He had dairy cows, beef cattle, hogs, and row crops over the years. Farming had been his passion for over 70 years. He was put on his first tractor at 8 years old. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Fred had a great interest in farming and enjoyed watching Westerns.
Survivors include his wife Janice, of the home; one son, Jeff Young, and wife Melissa of Chillicothe, Missouri; three grandsons, Connor Young and wife Devan of Waverly, Pennsylvania, Clayton Young of St. Louis, Missouri, and Max Anderson of Chillicothe, Missouri; two granddaughters, Madeline Holliman and husband Troyce of Kansas City, Missouri, and Carley Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Young, Violet Young, and Hendrix Holliman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Marjorie Young, and one sister, Sharon Lamp.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 5, 2024, from noon until the service time of 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Chillicothe, Missouri.
