Four injured, including two teenagers and a child, in Carroll County crash on Highway 65

A collision occurred at 1:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024, on Highway 65 at County Road 260 in Carroll County, Missouri. The accident involved a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2020 Ford Explorer, resulting in both vehicles being totaled and towed from the scene.

The crash happened when the Volkswagen Jetta, driven by a 17-year-old girl from Carrollton, Missouri, failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, the Ford Explorer, driven by 50-year-old Kristoffer S. Gilson of Hale, Missouri, collided with the passenger side of the Volkswagen.

The 17-year-old driver of the Volkswagen sustained minor injuries and was transported by private conveyance to Carroll County Memorial Hospital. A 16-year-old girl, also from Carrollton, who was an occupant of the Volkswagen, suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to the same hospital by private conveyance.

In the Ford Explorer, Kristoffer Gilson was using a seat belt at the time of the crash. His 12-year-old daughter, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Carroll County Memorial Hospital by Carroll County EMS. Jennifer L. Judy-Gilson, a 46-year-old woman from Hale, Missouri, who was also in the Ford Explorer, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the same hospital by Carroll County EMS.

The accident was assisted by Trooper I. L. Kimball, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, and the Carrollton Police Department.
