Flood Watch issued for Missouri counties due to excessive rainfall

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a Flood Watch, effective until 3:00 p.m. on August 14, 2024. This watch is in place due to the potential for flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall, with ongoing showers and thunderstorms expected to continue throughout the day.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert and monitor weather updates. The excessive runoff from these storms may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Those living in these areas should be prepared to take immediate action if Flash Flood Warnings are issued.
