Firefighters from the Grundy County rural and Gilman City departments extinguished a grass fire in extreme southeastern Harrison County early Sunday.
Grundy County rural Chief Kenny Roberts said around 40 acres burned in a field. The cause was unknown and firefighters were on the scene between one and two hours.
A Short time later firefighters were called back to the site after the blaze rekindled and burned a small area along a fence row. Roberts said firefighters from Grundy County and Gilman City were on the scene another one to two hours the second time.
Grundy County rural firefighters on Saturday extinguished a fire in a field at 478 Northeast 53rd.
Roberts indicated trash was being burned behind a house when the flames got away causing approximately 40 acres to burn.
Firefighters were on the scene about three hours with no injuries were reported.
