A crash occurred on Highway 11, approximately three miles west of Troy Mills, Missouri, on March 18, 2024, at 1:39 p.m. Alan B. Davis, a 72-year-old man from Kirksville, Missouri, was involved in a single-vehicle incident when his 2003 Toyota Camry veered off the road due to a medical event, leading to a collision with a ditch.

Davis was traveling westbound when he reportedly suffered a medical event that caused him to lose control of his vehicle, failing to maintain his lane and subsequently running off the south side of the highway. Davis was found to have been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Davis was transported by Air Evac helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, for medical attention.

The Toyota Camry sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene by Lakeside Wrecker.

Emergency services, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol, represented by Trooper Osborne, and the Adair County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident.
