Driver injured in single-car accident on Highway 36 near DeKalb

A single-vehicle accident occurred on August 29, 2024, at approximately 4:31 p.m. on Highway 36 at the intersection with Highway 31 North near DeKalb, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2014 Buick LaCrosse driven by Garrett M. Griffin, 31, of St. Joseph, Missouri, was involved in the incident.

The accident took place when Griffin’s Buick LaCrosse swerved to avoid another vehicle. As a result, the car veered off the north side of the roadway and struck a highway sign. The Buick sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Blue Knight Towing.

Griffin, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, suffered minor injuries. He refused medical treatment at the scene.
