Driver crashes due to tire blowout on Highway 36 near Meadville

A crash occurred on August 4, 2024, at 3:45 p.m. on Highway 36, approximately half a mile west of Meadville, resulting in minor injuries to the driver.

Ayad F. Alnassery, a 56-year-old man from Wichita, Kansas, was driving a 2019 Volvo VNL eastbound when a tire blowout caused the vehicle to veer into the median, overturn, and slide into the westbound lanes of  Highway 36. Alnassery was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The truck sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Gabrielson’s. Alnassery suffered minor injuries and was transported by Linn County Ambulance to Pershing Memorial Hospital.

The incident was assisted by Corporal Skaggs, Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Linn County EMS, and Meadville First Responders.
