VFW Post 919, in partnership with the Grundy County Veterans Association, is actively seeking donations to support a significant remodel of its facility. The planned renovations aim to make the building more accessible for individuals with disabilities and those who may face health challenges.

One of the key upgrades includes making the building handicap accessible to ensure that all veterans and visitors can navigate the space with ease. The remodel will also feature a dedicated office space for the VFW Veterans Service Officer, Kansas City Veterans Center, and Missouri Veterans Commission. These offices will provide veterans with much-needed privacy and a comfortable environment to discuss their benefits and other concerns.

In addition to these upgrades, the post plans to install internet and computer stations. This will enable veterans to access the VA, seek employment, and communicate with VA doctors through real-time video conferencing. Active military personnel will also benefit from this installation, as it will allow them to access their military orders and benefits efficiently.

The remodel will include the creation of a conference and event area on the upper floor and a kitchen on the lower floor. These spaces are intended to serve as gathering points for various events and meetings, further fostering a sense of community among veterans.

VFW Post 919 is a 501(c)(19) organization, and its partnership with the Grundy County Veterans Association, a 501(c)(3) organization, ensures that all donations are tax-deductible. Receipts will be provided to donors upon request.
