As many as 141 properties are to be offered for sale next Monday, August 22nd, when the annual Grundy County delinquent tax sale is held.
The sale begins at 10 o’clock that morning at the Grundy County Courthouse.
Owners can still have their properties removed from Mondays’ sale by going to the collector-treasurer office in the Grundy County Courthouse (second floor) before 4:30 Friday and paying the back taxes plus interest and penalties.
Of the 141 to be offered at the public sale, 49 are listed for the first time; 33 for the second time; 17 for the third sale; 19 for the fourth sale; five for the fifth sale; and 16 for the sixth year of sales. Madison township has the largest number of properties for sale at 67 – all at Leisure Lake. Trenton Township is next with 32.
Wilson and Franklin townships have 14 properties each for sale. Others include Liberty township with 11, Taylor township with two, and Marion township with one.

The Monday morning tax sale is open to the public. All buyers must be Missouri residents and can not owe any back taxes themselves. Anyone with questions may contact Collector-Treasurer Barb Harris at the Courthouse 359 4040, extension three.
