Anthony Glise, a highly accomplished guitarist and composer with nine diplomas from seven countries, will return to Chillicothe for this event. Glise, who last performed in the city for Cultural Corner’s “Art in the Garden” in June 2024, has built a distinguished career, performing at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. In addition to his extensive concert work, Glise is a published author with over sixty books and editions to his name. His fourteen CDs and DVDs have received international distribution in over forty countries and consistently earned five-star reviews in various magazines.

Joining Glise is Eve Weiss, an award-winning guitarist based in New York City. Weiss, who has more than 30 years of teaching experience and has been a registered Suzuki Guitar teacher since 1997, has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States and Europe. She made her critically acclaimed debut in New York City in 1983 and was the first American woman to receive the Toscanini Award for 19th-century chamber music in Stresa, Italy.

The two guitarists met while teaching at the “Academy for the Study of 19th-Century Music” in Italy, and they have since toured together throughout Italy for seven years. Their performance at “Gallery Grooves” will support the humanitarian project “Sleep Well, Ukraine,” which raises funds to build greenhouses and provide garden seeds to civilian communities in Ukrainian combat zones. The project is managed by the St. Joseph Music Foundation, Inc., and the Missouri Music Hall of Fame, in collaboration with the University of Ukraine’s Department of Agriculture in Kiev.

Tickets for the event are available for $20 per person in advance and $25 per person at the door. They can be purchased by calling the gallery at 660-240-5022, emailing director@culturalcornerartguild.org, or visiting the gallery in person during public hours (Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). Tickets are also available from any Cultural Corner board member.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Cultural Corner, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Cultural Corner is dedicated to educating, encouraging, and inspiring the community through the development of art by providing a dynamic and supportive venue for exhibits and fostering the creative process through workshops and instruction.
