Crash on Highway 73 in Tunas injures six, including four children from Macon

A collision on July 3, 2024, at 2:45 p.m. on Highway 73 in Tunas resulted in multiple injuries, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred when a 2013 Dodge Caravan, driven by Judy K. Woods, 72, of Fair Grove, Missouri, was traveling westbound and pulled into the path of a northbound 2010 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Velvet D. Parsons, 48, of Jefferson City, Missouri.

Velvet D. Parsons sustained moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. Judy K. Woods was reported to be wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision and was not listed among the injured.

In the Chevrolet Equinox, there were five additional occupants, all of whom were transported to Lake Regional Hospital with minor injuries. These included Treasure D. Parsons, 24, of Springfield, Missouri, and four juveniles from Macon, Missouri: a 14-year-old male, a 12-year-old female, and two 9-year-old males.

The Chevrolet Equinox sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Stauffers Towing. The Dodge Caravan sustained moderate damage and was also towed by Stauffers Towing.
