Crash on Highway 5 in Milan injures both drivers

A two-vehicle crash occurred early Wednesday morning on Highway 5 at Route E in Milan, Missouri. The accident took place around 6:30 a.m. and involved a 2017 Ford F550 truck and a 2018 Nissan Sentra, according to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The 2017 Ford F550 truck, driven by Jeffrey S. Trent, 50, of Powersville, Missouri, was traveling westbound when it pulled into the path of a southbound 2018 Nissan Sentra. The Nissan was driven by Lillian D. Conger, 22, of Unionville, Missouri.

The Ford F550 sustained moderate damage and was to be removed by the owner. Trent, who was wearing a seat belt, reported minor injuries but chose to seek his own medical treatment.

The Nissan Sentra was totaled in the crash and was towed from the scene by Littrell Towing. Conger, also wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries and was transported by Sullivan County Ambulance to Sullivan County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, Milan Police, and Fire Departments assisted at the scene. The crash is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
