Six defendants, facing various felony charges, have had preliminary hearings in the Associate Division of the Grundy County Circuit Court. Each has been bound over for arraignments tomorrow in Division One of the Grundy County Circuit Court.

Stacy Craig of Trenton is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia as of June 6. Craig is also charged from May 31 with abandonment of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

Stephen Walker of Trenton is charged with third-degree domestic assault on July 28.

Jeffery Chad Corbin of Trenton is charged with possession of a controlled substance as of July 23.

Jessica Joy Weeks of Trenton is charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia on May 30.

Tara Leanne Weimer of Trenton faces third-degree assault for a May 18 incident.

A Purdin resident, Dennis Logan Linard, is charged with driving while intoxicated as a habitual offender, following his arrest in Grundy County on August 4.

A probation violation hearing was held for Jeremy Donald Hamilton of Trenton. He admitted to violations for failure to report and non-compliance with other conditions. Hamilton was given credit for serving eight days in jail while awaiting the hearing. Associate Circuit Court Judge Carrie Lamm Clark continued probation. Hamilton had pleaded guilty in February to a count of driving while revoked or suspended on December 16.

A Trenton resident, Samantha Ratkovich, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor hindering prosecution. On June 17, she was accused of helping another person hide in a camper in an effort to avoid being apprehended. Ratkovich was sentenced to 10 days in the county jail and was given credit for serving the time.

At a show-cause hearing yesterday, Sean Nathanial Christophel of St. Joseph appeared in court owing $132 on a previously issued fine and court costs. Associate Circuit Court Judge Carrie Lamm Clark commuted the payment due to a sentence of 15 days in jail. Credit was given for serving time in custody since his recent arrest. Christophel had pleaded guilty in September last year (2023) on three misdemeanor counts stemming from an arrest in Grundy County in June 2020.

A Keokuk, Iowa, resident facing five felony counts in Grundy County remains in jail without bond following his appearance yesterday in the Associate Division of Circuit Court. Jacob Alexander Heule was arrested Friday for alleged incidents Thursday night in the parking lot of 7th Heaven Convenience Store in Trenton. Heule is charged with attempted first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon by exhibiting a knife in a threatening manner, second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child by putting the person at substantial risk, and armed criminal action. He’s scheduled for a bond hearing on September 10.
