Collision on Highway 24 in West Quincy leaves one seriously injured

A collision occurred on Highway 24 in West Quincy, Missouri, at approximately 4:16 p.m. on August 29, 2024, involving a 2013 Ford Edge and a 2025 Western Star 49X chassis.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident was caused when the Ford Edge, driven by Candice N. Dade, 47, of Quincy, Illinois, failed to yield to the Western Star truck driven by Doren L. Walker, 61, of Kalona, Iowa.

The 2013 Ford Edge, traveling northbound, sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Towing Solutions. The driver, Candice Dade, was wearing a seat belt during the accident. She suffered serious injuries and was transported by Adams County, Illinois, EMS to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

The 2025 Western Star 49X chassis, traveling westbound, sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Doren Walker, the driver of the Western Star truck, was also wearing a seat belt and did not report any injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
