The Chillicothe Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Hedrick Medical Center, is excited to announce the 39th Annual Chautauqua in the Park. This much-anticipated community event is set to take place on Saturday, September 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, September 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Simpson Park.

As summer transitions into fall, this beloved festival offers a perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to immerse themselves in a weekend of arts, crafts, and entertainment. This year’s Chautauqua promises to be the largest and most vibrant yet, featuring the highest number of vendors in over a decade. The event remains a hallmark of Chillicothe, renowned as a juried arts and crafts festival where attendees can explore an array of handcrafted items.

Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy, with a variety of food and drink options available throughout the park. This year, two new food trucks have been added to the lineup, ensuring a diverse selection to cater to all tastes. The event is designed with families in mind, featuring a large children’s area sponsored by Hy-Vee. Additionally, the festival will showcase a broad range of stage entertainment, spanning multiple genres throughout the weekend.

Visitors can also explore the bustling Farmers Market area, where they will discover fresh baked goods, vibrant flowers, plants, pumpkins, and more. The Traditional Arts area, sponsored by Milbank Mills, will feature over twenty styles of arts in action, including blacksmithing, pottery, and weaving. Additionally, the Author’s Corner will highlight local authors, and the Storytelling Area, sponsored by Livingston County Farm Bureau, will make a much-anticipated return this year.
