Chillicothe Police respond to theft, domestic assault, juvenile crisis

Officers with the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a series of incidents over the weekend, addressing matters ranging from theft to domestic disputes.

Police were called to the 200 block of Washington Street following a report of a lost wallet. Upon investigation, officers discovered that a 65-year-old man had taken the wallet. He was subsequently arrested and faces charges of stealing, theft of a credit device, and tampering with evidence. The individual was transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center, where he is being held pending further legal action.

In a separate incident, officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 3rd Street and Hickory Street. During the stop, a 20-year-old woman was arrested for driving while her license was revoked. After being processed at the Chillicothe Police Department, she was released with a citation and a court date.

Officers also responded to a domestic assault report in the 400 block of Jackson Street. The investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

Additionally, police were dispatched to the 400 block of Clay Street in response to a report of a suicidal juvenile. Officers engaged with the parents and provided resources to ensure the juvenile received the necessary assistance.
