Chillicothe police officers assisted the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services with a motorcycle fire in the 1400 block of Polk Street late Sunday morning. Authorities reported that the fire was successfully extinguished. The owner stated that they had been experiencing mechanical issues before the fire.

Later on Sunday afternoon, police were dispatched to a potential hit-and-run at the intersection of Fair and Bryan Streets. Upon investigation, officers discovered that the driver had hit a curb and blown a tire. No criminal violations were found.

On Sunday night, Chillicothe police conducted a traffic stop on South Washington Street at the South City Limits. Captain Grider, accompanied by K-9 Enoch, responded to the scene. The police dog alerted officers to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the arrest of a 54-year-old male for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The individual was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Caldwell County Detention Center pending charges by the prosecuting attorney.
