The Chillicothe Police Department answered 89 calls for service on Thursday, July 11, 2024, addressing a range of incidents throughout the city. Below is a detailed account of the department’s activities.
At 6:12 a.m., officers recovered found property and are currently attempting to locate the owner to return the item.
At 9:10 a.m., Animal Control responded to the 500 block of Springhill regarding dogs being left outside. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) located the animals and spoke with the owner about providing proper shelter and water.
At 11:40 a.m., the ACO was dispatched to the 300 block of Calhoun for dogs running at large. The officer spoke with the owner, advising them to keep the dogs contained.
At 11:42 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Alexander for a domestic disturbance. The suspect had left the scene before officers arrived. An investigation for domestic assault was completed, and charges will be filed with the Livingston County Prosecutor.
At 12:15 p.m., officers were called to the 700 block of Webster for a report of domestic assault that occurred on a previous date. Further investigation is required before charges can be filed.
At 1:28 p.m., officers returned a previously reported stolen bike to its owner. Although no suspects have been identified, the investigation is ongoing.
At 2:59 p.m., officers responded to Simpson Park for a domestic disturbance. A male and female suspect were contacted, both stating they were having a minor verbal disagreement. They were asked to leave the park.
At 5:25 p.m., officers attended to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Calhoun. The individuals involved stated they had a verbal argument and agreed to separate for the evening.
At 5:45 p.m., officers checked the well-being of a person appearing confused in the area of Jackson and Elm. The subject was located and returned home with their caretaker.
At 7:25 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Reynard for a domestic disturbance. Two subjects were involved in a verbal altercation and agreed to separate for the night.
At 8:07 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Vine for a possible runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located shortly after, and the Juvenile Officer released them to their parents.
At 9:32 p.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Washington for a disturbance caused by an intoxicated individual. The subject was escorted back to their residence without further incident.
At 11:23 p.m., officers investigated a possible trespassing in the 1400 block of Cooper. Despite searching the area, no suspects were found.
