The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 47 calls for service on Monday, July 22, 2024, addressing a variety of incidents and community concerns. Below is a detailed account of the activities recorded throughout the day.

At 2:56 a.m., officers checked on a suspicious vehicle in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. No criminal activity was observed at that time.

At 8:42 a.m., officers took a report of property damage in the 400 block of Elm Street. The investigation is ongoing.

At 9:29 a.m., a citizen reported a dog bite. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) discovered the incident occurred in another jurisdiction and referred the citizen to the appropriate agency.

At 10:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to a potentially suicidal person at an unknown location in Chillicothe. They contacted the individual by phone, who stated they were no longer in Chillicothe and were not suicidal but wanted officers to collect money for them. Officers informed the person that they could not do that. The person declined any further assistance.

At 10:41 a.m., the ACO was dispatched to a dog running at large at Easton and Polk Streets but was unable to catch the dog at that time.

At 11:12 a.m., the ACO responded to a barking dog complaint in the 1500 block of Springhill Road and contacted the dog owner.

At 12:17 p.m., the ACO captured a dog running at large in the 1400 block of Lambert Drive and contacted the owner to retrieve the dog.

At 12:25 p.m., officers observed a male struggling to get up in the 400 block of South Washington Street. The male was resting a sore ankle and did not want any further assistance.

At 12:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a parking complaint in the 400 block of Walnut Street. They tagged the vehicle with a notice to move it.

At 12:42 p.m., officers responded to possible harassment in the 500 block of Jackson Street and determined the incident was civil in nature.

At 2:12 p.m., a citizen called the police with questions about possible trespassing. Officers determined the matter was civil in nature.

At 4:13 p.m., a citizen inquired about an arrested person’s bond and extradition information. Officers referred them to the appropriate agency as the incident occurred in another jurisdiction.

At 4:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to a potentially suicidal person in the 500 block of West Business 36 Highway. The individual stated they were not suicidal but just sad and declined further assistance.

At 5:07 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle non-injury traffic crash in the 200 block of East Third Street and took a report.

At 8:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of illegal burning in the 400 block of Webster Street. They informed the residents to extinguish the fire, which contained unapproved materials.

At 8:56 p.m., while on patrol, officers were flagged down and informed of a nude person in the 700 block of Elm Street. They did not locate anyone nude and were told by employees that no one had been seen nude.

At 9:54 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle driving through a yard at Bryan Street and Hillside Drive. They arrested a 35-year-old male for operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. The male was processed at the police department and released pending a court appearance.

At 10:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 1000 block of South Washington Street. The incident was verbal, and the individuals had separated.
