On July 17, 2024, officers from the Chillicothe Police Department responded to a total of 99 calls for service. The following is a detailed account of their activities throughout the day.

12:52 a.m. – Officers patrolling Danner Park found individuals present after hours. They informed the people of the park hours, and they left without further incident.

8:16 a.m. – A citizen reported their dog had gotten out the night before. The Animal Control Officer (ACO) assisted the citizen.

8:36 a.m. – A citizen complained about a neighbor’s animals defecating on their property. The ACO addressed the issue with the complainant.

9:00 a.m. – A citizen inquired about their lost property. Officers informed them that the property had not been turned in.

9:03 a.m. – A citizen visited the Police Department for follow-up on an animal investigation. Citations were issued for animal violations.

9:52 a.m. – A citizen inquired about their lost property. Officers believed the property might have been located and planned a meeting to confirm.

10:18 a.m. – The ACO followed up on a possible animal neglect case in the 1400 block of Alexander St. No evidence of neglect was found.

11:23 a.m. – A citizen had questions about possible harassment. Officers provided the necessary information.

11:38 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of a vehicle with flashers on blocking traffic in the 1300 block of N. Washington St. The vehicle had left before officers arrived.

1:27 p.m. – The ACO followed up on an investigation in the 3000 block of W. Polk St.

2:46 p.m. – Officers conducted a well-being check in the 10 block of Walnut St. The individual was found to be okay.

3:22 p.m. – A citizen had questions about possible theft. Officers provided information, and no report was filed.

3:34 p.m. – The ACO investigated a missing cat in the 2500 block of W. Polk St.

4:00 p.m. – Officers assisted the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services with a fire in the 500 block of S. Washington St.

4:45 p.m. – Lost property was turned into the Police Department. The owner was identified, and the property was returned.

4:48 p.m. – Officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury crash on S. Washington St. at W. Bus. 36 Hwy. One vehicle had collided with the rear of another.

5:01 p.m. – A citizen complained about bed bugs in their roommate’s room. Officers determined the issue was civil in nature.

5:09 p.m. – A citizen provided additional information for an ongoing investigation.

5:41 p.m. – A citizen had questions about possible harassment. Officers provided information and answered their questions.

5:50 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a dog running at large at Broadway and Polk Sts. The dog was not located, and the ACO will follow up.

6:21 p.m. – A citizen had questions about retrieving their property from a person in jail. Officers advised them to contact the holding facility.

7:47 p.m. – A citizen requested cigarettes from the Police Department. Officers informed them they do not provide cigarettes.

8:03 p.m. – Officers addressed a parking complaint in the 500 block of Orchard St. They found two parking violations and asked the announcer at the Mudcats game to have the vehicle owners move their cars.
