The Chillicothe Police Department responded to 80 calls for service on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Below is a summary of the activities and incidents handled by the department throughout the day.

At 7:18 a.m., officers were dispatched to suspicious activity in the 500 block of Webster St. Officers responded but were unable to locate any criminal activity.

At 8:02 a.m., a citizen called the police department with questions about false reports. Officers spoke with the citizen and answered their questions.

At 9:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to a possible intruder in the 400 block of Vine St. Officers responded, conducted a search, and no one was located. No report was filed at that time.

At 9:47 a.m., the Animal Control Officer (ACO) responded to the 400 block of Walnut for animal complaints and removed a trap.

At 9:50 a.m., officers were dispatched to a possible wanted person traveling to Chillicothe on U.S. 36 Hwy. Officers responded but were unable to locate the suspected vehicle.

At 10:27 a.m., the ACO was dispatched to a complaint of a possibly neglected dog in the 1400 block of Alexander St. The ACO responded but was unable to locate the dog.

At 1:13 p.m., a citizen arrived at the police department to provide further information for an ongoing investigation. Officers spoke with the citizen and took the information for follow-up.

At 2:07 p.m., officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 400 block of Wise St.

At 2:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle motor vehicle crash in the 1000 block of S. Mitchell Ave. Officers responded and located the vehicle off the road and in a ditch. The driver had minor injuries and was treated on scene by the Chillicothe Department of Emergency Services. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Gabrielson’s Towing.

At 2:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to possible child abuse/neglect in the 1000 block of Grandview Ave. Officers were assisted by the Livingston County Children’s Division. No report was filed at that time.

At 2:25 p.m., the ACO conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1100 block of Cooper St.

At 3:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to a one-vehicle non-injury motor vehicle crash at Simpson Park. Officers report the vehicle struck a road sign. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Gabrielson’s Towing.

At 3:25 p.m., a citizen called the police department with questions about an ongoing investigation. Officers spoke with the citizen and answered their questions.

At 4:11 p.m., officers were dispatched to an elderly female walking and wearing winter clothing on Jackson St. Officers responded and located the female, who was confused. Officers assisted her and were able to get her back to her residence.

At 4:41 p.m., officers conducted follow-up in the 400 block of Wise St.

At 5:33 p.m., a citizen called the police department with questions about property lines. Officers spoke with the citizen and discovered the incident was civil. The citizen was referred to an attorney.

At 5:41 p.m., officers took a report of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash in the 1000 block of Graves St. The investigation is ongoing.

At 8:35 p.m., a citizen called the police department to inquire about their lost property. The citizen was informed their lost property had not been turned in to the police department.

At 9:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 2100 block of Ridgecrest Dr. Officers responded and discovered the incident was verbal in nature.
