The Chillicothe Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at 850 Fairway in Chillicothe, Missouri. The incident occurred behind McCoy Dental, with dispatch receiving the call at 3:56 PM. Firefighters were en route immediately and arrived on the scene at 3:56 PM. The team of four personnel had the fire under control by 4:26 PM.

Upon arrival, Chillicothe Police Department officers informed firefighters that the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The owner, Ashton Brookman of Brookfield, Missouri, had begun removing items from the vehicle when the fire department arrived.

A crosslay was deployed to extinguish the fire, which was primarily contained to the interior of the vehicle. The firefighting team used approximately 500 gallons of water to douse the flames. The owner reported that the vehicle had not been experiencing any mechanical issues and had last been used at 8 AM that morning.

A nearby Kia Rio also sustained damage from the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
