The Authors’ Corner will once again feature as a highlight of the Traditional Arts at Chautauqua event, showcasing the talents of several local writers. This year, attendees can expect to see a range of authors, including Brenda Anderson O’Halloran, Jim Jones, Steve Pinnell, Angela Poling, and Kirsten Mouton. Each author will have books available for purchase that cover a variety of topics, from local history to religion, art, and mystery/fiction.

A new addition to this year’s event is a local history book that highlights significant figures from Chillicothe’s past, offering a fresh perspective on the community’s heritage. Attendees can also look forward to acquiring a limited edition collector’s copy of J.J. Clarke’s Dare to Dream.

J.J. Clarke is set to make two guest appearances during the event. She will be available to discuss her works and sign autographs at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 7. Meanwhile, authors O’Halloran and Mouton will give a short presentation at 11 a.m. on the same day, focusing on their recent publication about Livingston County’s history.

Visitors are also encouraged to explore a unique exhibit featuring a 1960s Mart Drug knit shop scrapbook. This nostalgic collection provides an opportunity for attendees to find pictures of themselves or relatives from that era. Guests are invited to snap a photo and share their discoveries on social media to celebrate and support the local author community.
