The Mercer County Health Department in Princeton will host a car seat check event on September 20, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., in observance of Child Passenger Safety Month. This event is an opportunity for residents to have their child’s car seat inspected by a certified technician to ensure it is appropriate for the child’s age, size, and weight and correctly installed in the vehicle.

The car seat check event also provides fittings for those who qualify, allowing parents and guardians to ensure they have the correct seat to keep their children safe while traveling. Child Passenger Safety Month is an annual campaign dedicated to promoting the proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts to protect children in vehicles.

Residents interested in participating in the event can call the Mercer County Health Department at 660-748-3630 to schedule an appointment. The department emphasizes the importance of child passenger safety and encourages all caregivers to take advantage of this free service to enhance their children’s safety on the road.
