Cameron woman injured after deer collision on Highway 36 near Osborn

A single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 36, three miles west of Osborn, Missouri, at approximately 6:54 a.m. on August 9, 2024.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident involved a 2019 Ford Escape driven by 45-year-old Melissa S. Rowlison of Cameron, Missouri.

The crash happened as Rowlison was traveling westbound on Highway 36 when a deer suddenly entered the roadway. Rowlison’s vehicle struck the deer, resulting in moderate damage to the Ford Escape. The vehicle came to a controlled stop on the roadway, facing west.

Rowlison, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, sustained minor injuries. She was transported by a private vehicle to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph for treatment. The Ford Escape was towed from the scene by Scotty’s Towing.

The accident was assisted by Lieutenant M.A. Ott of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
