The Highway Patrol reports a Kansas City woman sustained moderate injuries and a Cameron woman was not injured in an accident involving a bus in Clay County Thursday morning.
Twenty-eight-year-old Shalleena Walton was transported to the North Kansas City Hospital.
Walton swerved to avoid slowing traffic on southbound Interstate 29 at Davidson Road before the vehicle she drove struck a guardrail. Debris from the cable barrier struck the bus, driven by 56-year-old Lisa Pelon.
Walton’s vehicle was totaled, and the bus received minor damage. The Patrol notes both drivers wore safety devices.
