Bridgeton man injured in Highway 61 crash near Hannibal

A Bridgeton man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Highway 61, approximately 0.75 miles south of Hannibal. The incident occurred at 1:02 a.m. when the 2007 Dodge 2500 truck he was driving ran off the left side of the roadway, entered the median, became airborne, and overturned, ejecting the driver.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver, identified as Preston X. Glass, 32, of Bridgeton, Missouri, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Glass was transported to University Hospital by Survival Flight 3 for treatment of his serious injuries.

The vehicle was totaled in the accident and was towed from the scene by Heartland Wrecker.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Ralls and Marion County Sheriff’s Departments, Ralls County Ambulance, Trooper Holliday, and Trooper Howell.
