Boater injured in collision with floating object on Lake of the Ozarks

A boating accident occurred on September 3, 2024, at approximately 10:40 a.m. at the 11-mile mark of the main channel on Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County, Missouri. The incident involved a 2000 Pro Craft Combo 215, which sustained moderate damage.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the boat, operated by Brian G. Eckelkamp, 63, of Washington, Missouri, struck a large wave, resulting in a collision with a floating object. Eckelkamp, who was not using a flotation device, sustained moderate injuries due to the impact.

Eckelkamp was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach for treatment. The boat was towed from the scene by Lake Tow of Eldon.
