Bethany woman arrested after meth allegedly found during traffic stop

A Bethany woman was arrested Monday night, August 26, by the Highway Patrol and now faces multiple charges in Harrison County.

Jill Deann Cameron, 52, has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. She also faces misdemeanors for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia involving a prior drug offense and operating a motor vehicle owned by another person, knowing the owner had not maintained financial responsibility. Additionally, Cameron has been charged with an infraction for failing to wear a properly adjusted or fastened seat belt as the driver or front-seat passenger.

According to a probable cause statement, a trooper stopped Cameron for an equipment violation. During the stop, the trooper allegedly found three grams of methamphetamine and a plastic straw with methamphetamine residue.

The probable cause statement also notes that Cameron has two previous convictions for drug-related offenses. She was convicted in Harrison County of possession of a controlled substance in March 1999 and December 2000.
