Barbara L. (Young) Green obit photoBarbara Lou Young Green was born on May 3, 1928, in Moberly, MO, the daughter of Gussie Alliene Brooks Young and Moss Juhl Young. In 1944, she married Donald Wayne Skinner, and they had three children: Leslie Wayne, Alliena Ann, and Mel Alan. In 1964, she married John H. Curry, and they had one son, James Stephen. Her marriage to Shannon Lee Green in 1985 formed a blended family, including Shannon Lee Green Jr. and Kathy Sue Green Karr.

After moving from Greeley, CO, Trenton became her home in 1971. Barbara was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Trenton, serving as secretary/treasurer in both volunteer and paid capacities since 1977 until her retirement in 1998.

Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses: Les and Rhonda Skinner of Marion, KY; Alliena Taylor of Joplin, MO; Mel and Nancy Skinner of Marthasville, MO; Steve and Cassi Curry of Bentonville, AR; Shannon and Diane Green of Gladstone, MO; and Allan and Kathy Karr of Edmond, OK, along with 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister who died in infancy, ex-spouse Don Skinner, spouses John Curry and Shannon Green, grandchildren Jodi McCaskill and Cody Robinson, great-grandchildren Benjamin and Linus Gilbert, and son-in-law Charles Taylor.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Trenton. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Trenton. Memorial donations instead of flowers are suggested to the First Baptist Church and may be mailed to Slater Neal Funeral Home.
