A man from southwest Missouri’s Brighton isn’t ignoring flu shots anymore after a near-death experience from influenza complications earlier this year. 50-year-old Loren Martin recently got his first flu shot ever after being put into a medically induced coma and staying in the hospital for two months.
Martin says he’s lucky to be living now.
Early cases of the flu have been reported across Missouri. Flu season is expected to last through March.
